Responsibilities of the RIC include:

Responsible for the recruiting and development of young officials into the system to ensure the program remains vibrant and that the Association’s officiating needs are met

Organize & lead Officials meetings & communicate training opportunities to SCMHA Officials

Responsible for the performance of all officials

Liaise closely with Referee Assignor to ensure all games have scheduled officials
-
Communicate Hockey Canada rule changes / rule emphasis as needed
-
Supervise and mitigate any officiating disputes and disciplinary issues
-
Train timekeepers
-
Attend monthly board meetings and report on Referee performance and development

Mentor and assess SCMHA Referees (twice per season, per season)
